Yes, do a backup using something like PIM Backup before you do anything so you can restore/transfer that data whether you flash or not.

Go to your Settings Tab then click All Settings then make sure you are looking at the System Tab then click on Clear Storage and follow the directions to Clear Storage/Hard Reset.
