Yeah, a lot of people have confirmed that a simple OTA update, or an RUU update after getting the phone can remedy that situation... and HTC's CEO has been emailing people back saying the EVO 3D is included int he announcement that they won't be locking bootloaders anymore. I think we can be pretty confident that the Evo 3D will be unlocked at ship time or shortly after.
