Gingerbread is android 2.3, Froyo is 2.2..with 2.2 we have more customizations as we have source code and more development has been doen to tweak it...2.3 is the bleeding edge which offers new stuff at the price of "some" stability and development..depending on your usage...

Genocide kernel is not a rom, its a kernel..in winmo we had kernels built into the roms, but in android we can flash them separately if we choose to..overall I jsut found Genocide more stable, has more new features(due to the kernel being newer), and it allows for under-clocking.

o ok, im learning and understanding more and more everyday thanks! yea i think id rather stick with 2.2 right now until im more familiar with android. i meant genocide kernel not rom lol. i downloaded it yesterday morning but never flashed it. the creator is working on a new kernel as well, wont be long before a beta version im guessing. now im off to skim the kernel thread again and flash it.

what do i use to undervolt? is it necessary? ive been using setcpu on "conservative" to oc. while reading the geno kernel yesterday i remember him saying something about some other app thats better than setcpu but it all sounded like one big complication to me. lol
