Are you running a rom with the latest 3.70 update? If so, that kernel is already there so in essence you flashed the exact same kernel your phone was already running. I would say try a different kernel like Netarchy. Wipe the cache and Dalvik cache first, then flash the Netarchy kernel. I am using the SBC 4.2.2 More Aggressive kernel and it is ultra smooth and my battery has not seen better life.
If you are not satisfied with this kernel, then boot back into recovery, wipe the cache and dalvik cache first then reflash the HTC #15 kernel and you should be all set.
