At the very moment of you picking up your phone from water, take out the battery. That's the best you can do to protect your phone from further damage. Then, wipe the water off, and try to extract all water that get into the phone out. Leave it in a very dry place, let it go over days, or under a table light, not too hot, but warm. for that, you probably won't have any problem...
I know it's long time ago. But if that's the only problem you can find, you do have a very good luck
Try to disassemble the phone carefully, and clean the boards with dry cloth or with some pure alcohol, not rubbing alcohol, pure one. You might not need anything from other crap phone to swap with.
