Have them verify that the internal water indicator isn't activated as stated above. There are 3 water indicators on all TP2s as far as I know, all in the same general location. The two that are clearly visible can easily get in contact with moisture and turn red (battery and just under the battery cover). Some people even had them activated on NIB devices. The internal one shouldn't be all red unless you dropped it in water. If that one is still good, they should still be able to do a warranty replacement.
