Unless you really need to recover the space, this will not give you more RAM and I really doubt it makes anything faster.

Well, this begs the question, how big are your cemail files? I use IMAP/POP with two accounts set to download for 30 days. My cemail.vol is 1.7mb at the momemt. I may be switching to gmail soon so any input from gmail users?
I mean i used to keep my text messages up to a month saved on my TP2 and i'd have about 2000 in total between my inbox and sent items. once i cut this down my device is way faster, and my emails actually take up space for each message file vs. the displayed '0K' of space per text message...it seems like a good idea and should make sense. My cemail file is not as big as yours though

Was anyone else successful in moving the mail files to the SD card without losing their text messages? As i said before the procedure worked for me for emails, but all of my previous text messages dissapeared and when i received a new sms, it did not show up on my screen which i assume meant the sms portion was reading from my SD card but still stored on my main memory somewhere else...
