ALWAYS wait for a rooted OTA. OTA's are a way for Sprint to break root, while dangling the advantages of the upgrade like a drug dealer dangles drugs to an addict. This forum was full of members who broke their root for the 2.2 upgrade, with nothing but blind faith that they'd ever get it back again. And if wireless tether was important, it was a long wait.
What's with this desire for instant gratification, no matter the cost? Be patient, read here, and at XDA, and when a solution comes out, then wait and read some more, for a week or so (it can take that long for some serious issues to come to the forefront). Remember the Unrevoked debacle? A little patience would have saved a lot of people some heartache. Unless being a "crash test dummy" is your goal in life.......
