I turn off auto-backlight since it's a waste of batteries. I map a key to run myLight, which makes it easy to change the brightness. If it's sunny, I hold a key, and change the brightness. It's much easier then relying on the auto-backlight IMO.

On a separate note,
Can anyone help me out with this Resco File Explorer .cab? I would like to get rid of everything but the actual file explorer. I've opened up the .cab and tried many things, but I just can't seem to get rid of these three shortcuts it's placing in my start menu.

Try to delete the setup.dll from the cab. That has to be what is making the shortcuts since they aren't listed in the shortcut section in WinCE cab maker. Most cabs work fine when you delete setup.dll (though there are some that don't).
