@NRG,
Just a thought... I have a carputer (samsung Q1U running Centrafuse). I can pair up with it and see if I can replicate the BT "issue" with it.

EDIT: I just paired up my phone with my carputer - geez...now why didn't I think of that before? - and initiated and ended a call via my touchscreen controls ON the carputer, so it works for me on both my carputer and my stereo headset.
