I can tell you dont know what your talking about. It's almost imposable to brick your phone. I think you have the Evo mixed up with the TP2 or something. "rooting" is just a method by which one gets superuser permission access so by those terms this is considered to be "Rooting". Hope I cleared some things up for you.
