i wanna say up front, i DONT have an EVO.. my brother-in-law does and i try to keep him current on what he needs for it..
seems to me the Masses made alot of noise b4 about how Froyo was going to have hotspot native in the device... is this the case??
i dont see my brother-in-law but every few months as he's a North American truck driver and goes away for long periods of time.. well we were talking the other day and he was ready to pay sprint the $30 a month for hotspot access.. i told him id get him rooted when i say him next, which happens to be next week..
i see now Froyos rooted already it seems, so if tethering isnt native to the device, i can still root him when i see him even of on 2.2 already by then..
i dont think im crazy, maybe i am remebering wrong.. but if you google "android 2.2 hotspot" youll see 100s of reports how its right in Froyo.. and pics like this:
so i guess it comes down to: 1)will i have to root by brothers phone for hotspot? 2) him pay sprint $30 a month? 3)or is it native in the device now and its free??
if it is free now, kinda shady Sprint charging people for the last few months to do it..
