It will because it adjusts the clock speed based on load. So when I read my rss feeds for example, my EVO chugs along at 385 mhz. Lower clock is lower energy consumption. Then when I turn my screen off, it goes to 245mhz.

Without this widget, it will stay at the full 1ghz all the time. I also have a JIT enabled rom with the new radio. I get about a full 24hrs out of it with 5 hrs of awake time.
