I don't necessarily use the auto-kill feature very much, but sometimes I do need to manually kill apps that are programmed badly. I think its been fixed, but the PriceGrabber app that just came out, it would keep GPS on even after closing the app...the only way to turn it off was to kill it using a task manager. There are some apps I just don't like running in the background.

I also haven't noticed a big difference in battery life either way, unless I have a rogue app stuck in the background.
