Thumbs up Why does my phone/OS crash?

I posted this as a reply on another thread, but thought it has merit enough to have it's own thread, perhaps help someone understand why things just fail. And not to think too hard about where to point a finger of blame, but just to accept that things just are that way. If you don't set your expectations too high, you're less likely to take it personally when they don't meet your high expectations. Especially with a better perspective on things as a whole.

Just because a program/app is written for a certain OS, it doesn't mean it will play nicely with all hardware configuration/manufacturer and/or other software/apps. Even when apps are written by the same dev, they may not work in harmony.

As mentioned below, this is an issue even with other OS (i.e. Windows, Windows Mobile, Symbian, MAC OS & Linux);

Consider this, devs programing for Android OS are not necessarily programming their app to work well with let's say HTC Sense.. David's Compass widget might not like Albert's Pong app, especially if both want access to the accelerometer.. David never met Albert and Albert could give a rat's booty about David's widget.. (lol) And neither knew that ShootMe likes to take snap shots when you shake your phone.. (careful not too hard you may drop it).

Make sense? Hope that helps,
