Sprintgirl, I downloaded the Sync from HTC and all the folders I wanted to keep (some data, photos, etc.) I saved before formatting.
I have recovered my SD card but I haven't gotten to the USB restore yet. Now I have to power off my phone to charge it but I'll take care of it tonight.
That link I added was spot on for me.
