okay to kinda make it wm terms, still a lil noobish but gettin better everyday lol, it's like flashin the hardspl, so basically you're unlockin the phone, there are a few ways, 1 is the unrevoked way (half root) which you can use the free wifi tether in the marketplace or its toast root (full root) which gives you the ability to flash custom roms and wifi tether tho that root involves a system wipe the first tyme. so it's up to u, but I'm sure you would like the wifi tether better...hope i helped
