6+ rings before going to voicemail?

Callers are telling me that my phone rings 6 or 7 times before going to voicemail since upgrading to the Evo. With my TP2, it was 4 or 5. Most people hang up by the 6th ring, assuming voicemail is not going to pick up.

I called Sprint and they said this is a network setting, and it is the same (27sec) for both the TP2 and Evo. They said there is no way to change it. Each ring should be about 5 seconds, so 27 seconds would put me at 5 or 5.5 rings, which would be acceptable. The tech on the phone actually things the rings are shorter on the Evo, so it is amounting to more rings in the same amount of time. I haven't tested this, but he says he will send the info up the chain and see if there is anything that can be done.

Is anyone else noticing this? Does anyone know of a fix? I know on some networks (mainly canadian networks?) you can modify this setting yourself.

Dave
