Besides the fact that sense is cooked in, if you build a rom from aosp that is not a half ass port over, its a stock rom just not from HTC, HTC has to build the rom from source also then incorporate sense also. Now if you're using the stock rom to build a rom, now that's a different story and depending on what features aren't working, you can decide if its worth it or not
