It does not really work that way..for the device to receive internet it has to have compatible drivers..so unless you write the drivers into the firmware of your router it won't happen.

You can of course connect it to a pc and share internet over the network.

Is there a reason why you don't want to use a WIFI utility on the phone? is it cause of a PS3 or range issue?
