Re: [BOUNTY] Working FM on TP2
The radio is in the bluetooth chip from what I've read... had what i thought was a brainstorm and turned on the bluetooth on my phone before running HTC FM Radio... but nothing. wishfull thinking.
I've been searching for a while this evening and have found quite a few links... xda developers has a couple of threads - the HTC Radio app won't work on CDMA phones for whatever reason. Also, the Power Radio app explicitly states that it doesn't work on CDMA TP2's (though it partially supports GSM TP2's), so thats 2 FM apps that won't work on CDMA. Lots of TP2 users in other countries have success with HTC FM Radio but i haven't found the common theme among them all that points to them all being GSM or not.
Further there is a thread about creating an RDS FM Radio app and they are currently at a roadblock on the Rhodium.
THere are some interesting registry lines, like HKLM\Software\WIDCOMM\BTConfig\General\RadioInitLi braryBCRMInit.dll but nothing conclusive as to pointing to how to enable communication with the radio. Last page of the RDS Radio thread a guy may have found the DLL thats responsible for read/writing to the chipset but thats as far as they've gotten.
Final edit for the night.... seems all questions will be answered here (mods forgive my url work-around)
http ://forum. ppcgeeks. com/showthread.php?t=78574&page=26 <<<answer is that the hardware isn't enabled and needs to be enabled when the phone boots up else no go.
