This is a review of the 23557 build for 04/14 release on/for the Sprint Touch Pro (CDMA RAPH800).
I love this release as it is a nice, smooth, and aesthetically pleasing rom!
I have not had DAYS with the rom so I will NOT report on actual speed, just on making it work for us Sprint users. However, I have to say that it seems a little slower than the beta release...
NEW or Highlight:
1. New graphics... I like em...
2. The "new" font, smaller and clearer. Very legible... nice
3. Weather updated without having to enable it... nice
4. XDA_UC came up at first boot... nice
5. The Volume Control is back!!!!!!!!! NICE... me like, me like
6. The new CoOkie Home is sweet!!! go to his page to see the new mods... (posted a few above this post.)
***issues***
1. Keyboard does not work at first.
Solution: Install a cab that makes you reboot, keyboard works.
2. MMS does not work at first boot. Even after installing the Carrier Provisioning, but dont fear... find the workaround below...
Solution: Install the attached cab 1, soft reset. Install the attached cab 2, soft reset. (If there is an easier way to do this, please someone spill the beans... This is tried and true and has worked for me with all the latest releases.)
3. The first time that weather updates, the words seem to be ontop of each other.
Solution: It appears to me that once cabs are installed and you have to reset, everything goes back to the way it should
In the process of testing this, I did/used:
3 hard resets
10 soft resets
45 cabs were installed because I used XDA_UC twice (lots of cabs including MSVoice Command, Skyfire, File explorer extension, even sprint nav...)
6 mms were sent (testing)
1x Opera Beta
12x Shake&Save
1 minute Internet sharing (to test mainly)
4x Weather, (updates on its own at first, then every 30 mins, I always disable this, just update as needed).
Batt life went from 48% to 15%...ouch, but still... I LOVE THIS ROM!!!
I feel thesame way as NRG, I have chargers everywhere and always carry a spare usb cable with me too so... I got juice everywhere I go.
