So sure, if you never use your data, turn it off. If you are checking email 24 times a day, and getting 12 weather updates, you will lose by turning it off.

I thought somebody might say that. There seems to be strong opinions on both sides of the argument and I don't know what to think. Here's what I don't understand - if an idle connection uses such little power, why does push email chew through the battery so fast? Is the connection technically not idle with push email?
