Re: getting tp2 today...thinking about iphone..whos have both?
Well most of the people i know have iPhones. The only reason why i feel that its a good phone is that Apple has planted its seeds in the right places. Nearly every company that makes anything that deals with electronics has has products with iPhone/iPod adapter (e.g. Cars, Exercise machines, home stereo systems). I hate seeing software out there that is available for both WM and the iPhone, only to see that the iPhone version is much better (Pandora).
So lets face the facts here, the iPhone is a good phone... it has a very large support base and jail broken community, but that's all it has for me. At&t has crappy service in majority of the areas that I've lived in and i refuse to pay the mandatory $30 data plan on its phone. I personally hate the iTunes software so anything that has to sync with it is out of the question for me.
I upgraded from the original TP a month ago to the TP2. The larger screen is awesome, and WM seems to run better on it even though it has the same specs. I prefer Qwerty over touch screen as well as expandable memory. I love that fact that it easily doubles over as a storage device when i misplace my thumb-drive. Sure there aren't as many as "free" playable games available on WM that look as good as the ones on the iPhone, but i could care less. I didn't buy a phone to play games on it anyhow. Streaming radio through GSPlayer and reading ebooks is great. If i ever get tired of the look and feel of the phone (which hasn't happened yet), there are plenty of Chefs out there with available roms to try out. I'm surprised people have gotten tired looking at the same 30+ icons on their iPhones.
I have never owned an iPhone/iPod, and seeing how some people are SO attached to it and how the media keeps throwing apple products in my face, i don't think i ever will. Though i am interested in seeing how well Android will perform on this device once a full port is out.
I have several people i work with that have switched from the iPhone and others that are switching to it. In then end it comes down to whatever makes you happy.
