Battery life will suffer more under push email because of the constant internet connection. By default, as soon as an email hits your mailbox, mail2web will send it to your phone via Activesync. You can change that from "as items arrive" to a time that fits your need (ie every 5, 10, 15 min etc).

To change, open Activesync. Click on Menu then Schedule. Set the options for syncing for Peak and Off-peak times. You can define the time that applies to both there as well.
