The linux driver for the wifi card ( AFAIK) can't do WPA, though wpa_supplicant is part of the image package. Theoretically, ndiswrapper could be used to get it working, but I think you would have to produce a .inf file for the driver .dll file.
I haven't tried it with WEP yet since my home network uses WPA.

My network engineer has used linux with his ipaqs for years. I will ask him about this later in the week when i see him.
As long as there is a kernal of memory you can do it!
