i think this will raise more questions than it answers but....
i also have reason to believe its only running on 802.11b because i ran a speed test on the Hero using speedtest.net's app and it only clocked at 3583kpbs using a linksys wireless g router
from the same location relative to the router my Archos 5 IMT w/ Android which is 802.11b/g/n and it clocked at 9246kbps using the same speed test app
then, using speedtest.net direct web page my laptop (from the same location) clocked 14.42Mbps (14420kbps to stay consistent)
same router, same spot, same Comcast, 3 results, weird....
but I'm pretty sure I saw the Hero's speed needle hit 4400kbps which is almost the cap for 802.11b of 5000kbps http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IEEE_802.11#802.11b
