like to think they (Sprint/Palm) are holding off on an official ROM update b/c they want to include it in a 1.15 ROM that actually fixes other issues/new AKU, etc and that having 2 ROM updates released within X months would be confusing for everyone (it's already happening with the Sprint SMS notification: is it a "newer" patch everyone asks?; also they probably don't assume most of their users are doing weekly hard resets

It
does make sense though internally to have a new ROM just for when they make new 700wxs it fixes the issue.
I have noticed that doing a system restore via SPB backup does keep the SMS patch, so unless you are doing a full and clean Hard reset every time I don't find it too much of an inconvenience.
OTOH, once we get a ROM we can start to customize
