The reason why they want us to provide them with an accenture email when we make our purchase is so that they can call SPRINT and have them change our accounts to the ACCENTURE discount plan. like OP mentioned, they will not care if it is a legitimate email address or not. they just need it to call sprint and cover their butts that they were provided an accurate info from us in case Sprint asks them about it. Here is the solution for those who are worried. This is the easiest way and fastest.
Call Sprint at 866-853-4931 to convert your account to Accenture discount plan. Just tell them you are in the process of upgrading your phone and you were told to call to convert to your new corporate discount. Tell them right away you were given a HIERARCHY CODE.-- NAAND_ZZZ_CRI -- by giving this code, they will not question you wether you work for Accenture or not. Once this is done, you can submit the order or just call in. Your account will convert into ACCENTURE discount plan immediately.
This will save them the time calling Sprint and converting the account themselves. once they see your account as Accenture account, they can place the order the same day. I converted my account and place the order yesterday and getting the phone today. talking about procrastinating for christmas gift for my wife.
Oh and ofcourse, you have to convert your SERO plan to an EDP to do all these.
I just called the number and applied the discount to my account... mind you i placed my order on the 30th and the ticket is still in the '"open" status... so im just hoping tomorrow they will hopefully get to my order and see that im already on the accenture discount plan and SEND the phone already... helped them through a step i guess.
I recommend doing this asap, it takes 3 mins. Make sure you tell them you have a hierarchy code before they ask for an email or even the code for that matter so they wont even think of an email... and if they did (kinda) like in my situation, they wanted an email to send the confirmation, i pretended my home email (my only primary email) would be better than work email, the rep said that would be fine.
