Also when i did a search for the closest repair center it came up as Sprint store by underground comm??? Is this a sprint store or a third party place? Does it make a difference or should i take it to a offical sprint store?

The sounds like a third party store. Maybe others will disagree but I think the third party stores are nicer and many times not as busy.
I would say you've got nothing to loose but go and show them the phone- the earlier the better(though sometimes cosmetic stuff may not be a valid issue or they may blame user abuse).
BTW- was this a refurb or a supposed "Nib" phone?
