weird thing now, it boots and and all, but when you go to start- system- about, it says os version 23088 but build version is 23060. how would that have happened, i used a fresh copy of calks 4.1 kitchen, then renamed the 23071 folders to old, then copied in the new 23088 sys folders.

Did you copy the XIP? You'll need to make a new folder in \ROM\DIAMOND and name it 23088. Then copy OEMXipKernel folder from a folder in the the same directory to the 23088 directory. You also need to put MSXIPKernel folder in \ROM\SHARED\23088 folder. Then select 23088 for both SYS and XIP when building a new ROM.
