No, you are just completely wrong. I'm not sure who these "people" are that you think were fired from the WM6.5 team, but who the heck do you think keeps releasing the latest builds of WM6.5 and the new WM6.5.1 branch?
The WM7 team is not the same as the WM6.5+. I'm not sure where you are getting your information from, but it is just wrong. Changes in management is a common thing with large projects and no doubt MS has had problems getting WM7 out the door, but I'm not sure what that has to do with WM6.5's UI.
Sounds to me you just don't care for WM6.5 (fine) but are are also looking for external support from authority to back up your opinion ("
They were fired! So it must be bad!)". It's a fallacious argument.

IE is a part of WM6.5. Can you uninstall it and .cab it up for a WM6.1 device?
Either way it is still a huge shift for Microsoft in terms of strategy and having those apps built in goes a long way in extended user functionality.

Well, that's your opinion. I disagree. And I bet programmers will disagree with you also. I also like all the little UI enhancements, including my "replied to" message in my emails. There's a lot of subtle changes that make WM6.5 arguably a more feature-complete and enhanced experience of WM6.1.

Once again, please cite a single source for this claim of people being "fired". Because it is false. So you don't like the UI in WM6.5, fine. I honestly can't imagine anyone, out of the box, preferring A to B:

Really? You think WM6.1 is a winning strategy for Microsoft in 2009? That is actually looks
better?

They launched/re-launched 30 phones on Nov 6th with WM6.5. In the U.S. you have Imagio, Pure, Tilt 2 and Intrepid.
This is just, and no offense, a dumb point. Obviously with every new WM6.5 device that is launched, your "argument" withers. Having the Pure and Intrepid myself, I can tell you that the out-of-box experience is way better than WM6.1.

No, once again I have two WM6.5 devices:
Pure and
Intrepid. I speak from experience, you speak from a soapbox.
Neither my Pure or Intrepid have custom ROMs either. Even my Treo Pro has just a stripped down & clean WM6.5 build, no custom UI.
Once again, you don't like WM6.5 so don't use it. Last I checked your phone has WM6.1 so sounds like you're already set. I'm not sure why you are trying to convince myself or others that WM6.5 isn't a worthy upgrade--I have 6 devices running it
(Snap, Intrepid, Ozone, Pure, Touch Pro 2) and I've used the
TG01,
Imagio and other high profile devices with it--I think WM6.5 is really good. It's not the best thing in the world, but a step in the right direction.

Well, obviously your opinion. If you don't like WM so much (or like using last year's OS), I'm not sure why you are even here. So MS isn't always on top of things and WM6.5 isn't as nice of a UI overhaul as WM6.5.1--they had time constraints and WM7 delays to contend with.
So don't use it. Grab a kitchen and make a vanilla WM6.1 ROM, what's stopping you?
