You phone is not supposed to be in water or even near water, otherwise in a washing machine, if i was the agent you called, that would appear as fraud to me... "sir i need a new phone, i washed mine", im sure that is a standard type of thing to try when people want a new phone, like before your apple warranty is up you claim your battery is dying to get a new one...

but if I'm paying for insurance than they should replace it.. and I really think it would be more like driving the car into a lake, or something that involves water and not deliberately murking your phone. And I really dont know about the apple thing, but it makes sense that you'd at least try and get a new battery.. just imo.
