This is probably caused by using a custom taskbar not made for the version of 6.5.x you're running (may also be an old .tsk). If you want the default buttons to work, you need to use an updated custom taskbar or the all white default one. You can find m6silver's color takbar that i updated for 23053
here as an EXT package. It does not contain HTC VolumeControl.dll since I do not cook that in anymore. All buttons show as normal for me using this taskbar.
