It will require a re-flash from a manual bootload I am pretty sure.

IMO, the flush power button is not very forgiving for dust/dirt/etc. I've had one TP where it was getting stuck in the down postion like it was off center and getting hung up on the case. Took it back to Sprint for a different issue. So unless you've got some power mangaging software run amok, my GUESS is a hardware issue. How frequently are we talking here?
IF, giant IF, it's ROM related it's have to be a bad flash IMO. Have you tried re-flash? Flash to stock and see if it continues? If it happens on stock then you're looking at hardware, re-lock and take back to Sprint. If it doesn't happen on stock then reflash energy without any apps and see if it still continues.
A lot of guessing here but I'm jumping in cuz you've asked before and I have had it happen-kinda. Good luck.

Edit: Damn you rootlinux and your fast fingers! (ok, my long windedness)
Argh, def. ROM related. It only started happening after I flashed this new ROM. It's sad that I'll have to re-flash though, I already took the couple hours to get everything the way I wanted it
