Ok here we go...
I have the lastest update 1.1
Smart dial works only when using the hardware keyboard.
not when using the on screen dialpad.
Future OTA updates will blow all doubt about this device {PALM PRE} out of the water...
ps. me and windows mobile is going thru a real nasty divorce right now, but she being win mo hasnt sign the papers yet..!O!
