Re: Dashwire Vs MS Myphone

I love Dashwire for the following reasons:
  • Awesome web interface
  • Unlimited storage (MyPhone gives you a paltry 200MB in an age of cloud storage)
  • Text via PC
  • Call via PC (would love VoIP or Click2Call functionality for open source PBXs, which they are aware of)

Me no likey Dashwire for the following reasons:
  • A lot of my data on their system has made my web portal slow.
  • The client takes up too much RAM
  • The client I think keeps a data connection persistent which kills the battery (I'd like the new "send-an-encrypted-txt-msg-to-device-to-make-it-act" methodology better)
  • It doesn't start as a "service" (if there is such a thing) in the background, which means upon boot the device has to wait for it to completely load before any actions could be taken.
