Looking for a better RSS Feed Reader

I am currently using RSS Hub with my TP2 but it has so many flaws and errors that I just can't use it anymore. I also would like to get something that can update atleast every 5 minutes if not even sooner. I am not really looking for somthing to read as much as I am looking for the RSS feed to notify me of anything new and in very quick order.....any suggestions?

Re: Looking for a better RSS Feed Reader

I'm not sure exactly what you're doing, but it sounds like what you really need is some type of application running on a server somewhere that will monitor ____ for you and then send you an SMS message when _____. It is bad practice to have a feed reader refresh over and over again, and I can imagine a bunch of bad stuff using a reader approach:
1 - increase your bandwidth usage
2 - reduce your battery life
3 - require you to look at your phone over and over again to get updates

So are you looking for an alert on an ebay auction change? An alert for new deals on woot? An alert for a server going down? There are various monitoring services out there that will generate an SMS on whatever criteria you might have. If you need something more customized, it would not be too difficult to put together a little perl script and run it via cron from a cheap hosting account.

SPB News is really good. I ditched RSS Hub a long time ago for it. You do have to pay for it but worth it in my opinion.

You hit it on the head. 1. I need to know when my server goes down(hasn't in a long time) and I am currently using a product that sometimes tekes 5-15 minutes, not good enough and I am looking for something I can use free. 2. I want to get updates on craigslist on a particular section whenever anything gets added.

thanks for any help.
