Any program that plays FLV video?

Does any music player exist on Windows Mobile 6.5 that plays FLV videos? Or do I need to convert FLV to another format? If so, what is the best format to convert to?

Re: Any program that plays FLV video?

I've been having some trouble with FLV files DL'd with the mVu app. They didn't play on my TCPMP (Tech1 version). And they don't seem to play on Creedo's CP with or without attached cab. (More thanks by the way anyway, Creedo.) It's a weird situation because FLVs DL'd with WVD play perfectly with my TCPMP and also with the CP.

Anyway...
To view FLVs with any player anytime, convert them to 3GP format. You should have no trouble with that. There are several free converson apps available. Google for your pick of them. (Sorry, I don't have any zip or cab files.)

Re: Any program that plays FLV video?

That's a bummer. Yeah, coreplayer/TCPMP is old enough that it doesn't support every variation. A FLV can have the video encoded with H264, VP6 or sorenson spark. The program might only support one or two out of these three types.

Something I've wondered... at some point coreplayer went to a pay version. Are the cabs you see floating around for cracked coreplayer really old versions? Maybe the newer (paid) one supports more modern formats than the ones you see available on rapidshare etc.? Or maybe they just never updated the app to handle every new codec.

Talking about cracked stuff is not allowed...

-------------------------------------------------------------

The best format to convert would probably be wmv as all windows mobile support that format.

What is the source of the FLV videos by the way?

Re: Any program that plays FLV video?

Yeah, creedo, but only a temporary bummer.
I would have gotten the new Coreplayer in a flash but they don't let you try it before you buy it. And now I'm only 6 weeks away from a phone upgrade on my Sprint contract. So I can live with 3GP until then.

Source of my FLVs, qTen, is Bik's mVp app for YouTube and adult site DLs.

BTW, I think I'll be joining you on an Epic 4G in November. Is there an MP3 player for it yet? And did someone ever come up with a way to sync it with Outlook?

Epic 4G can play more videos and audio then any other phone in the market ..as for Outlook Sync..I think you can do that through Kies..but Haven't tried it myself.
