pim.vol extraction without active sync

I have a strange problem. I have an ASUS639, use WindowsMobile 5 and Active Sync 4.x (I have 4.2 and 4.5 on 2 different computer systems).

I start with the actual question "How can I extract items (adresses, appointments,...) from pim.vol and get them into outlook without activeSync?"

I explain myself : I am merging from an old to an new PDA. On my "old" PDA (acerN30) the synchronisation between outlook and the PDA went well through Active Sync 3.x. I used active sync 4.2 to load my new PDA with al the information from the old PDA. So far everything goes wel. But for a reason I don't know some repeated appointments are not synchronized anymore. If I make an new repeated appointment it is synchronized, but if i change something from an existing repeated appointment that was originally created long ago, then the change is not synchronized from the PDA to outlook (active sync is correctly configured to synchronize all appointments, not only the last 2 weeks, and i do the changes in an appointment that is for the next day).
I even synchronzied on another PC (with a new synchronisation account, so with a new and empty outlook.pst file), and most (but not all) my "old" repeated appointments were not synchronized.
So I was wondering : is there a way to get (without active sync) all the information of PIM.VOL into a (new) outlook.pst file, or into a file that can be imported into outlook. Because according to me the "error" is in my PDA or PIM.VOL file since the same problem exists on 2 different PC's.
