help with traveling

Sorry to ask youz guys but your smart and I am already registered here so ask I shall.
My wife is going to manila in a week. I am trying to find out what we need to do so she can use her blackberry over there. I figured at least ONE of you have made the trip and would have some idea what she needs to do.

I know, it's a blackberry. I'm a touch pro owner and this is the only site that I have registered where I feel I might get some good info. If not? I tried.

thankx in advance.

For the record, sprint was no help. mad at sprint, i am.

Re: help with traveling

What service are you on?

If it's a CDMA service, good chance that it won't work.

If it's GSM, it might, but at least the SIM card could be swapped out for a local one.

Re: help with traveling

Manila is GSM.

Sprint is CDMA.

It's a paperweight.

If you need a local wireless phone, consider buying a cheap worldphone (google worldphone) with a local sim for manila. But that would be a voice phone with a local number, not her blackberry w/ her service of course.
