Development: Not sure what yet, but here's an icon set for now

Hi Everyone,

Since it's clear to me that I'm not going to be cooking roms here anytime soon, but want to do something, so I've started working on what could turn into a theme for the Epic. Now, I work full time, and go to college part time so time isn't something that I have an abundance of, so I'm going to take my time on this. One thing I want to add to it is themed icons. Since we finally have an official froyo release and it's something I'm hoping to release here, I would like some input on what all of you would like. To qualify that, I'm trying to create parts of it, and get opinions of what you think of it.

Anyway, here it goes. I've created 5 icon frames that I've placed the stock voicemail icon in. Which one you you like the best? Also note that I'm planning on using blue, green, and some form of gray for these, but so far I've just done blue.

Here is a set based off of #3. I'm going to keep adding more apps, so check back once in awhile. If there are any apps you would like, post them in the thread.

This is the icons with the Launcher Pro to match.

These icons work great with desktop visualizer from the android market, they can also be used with launcher pro.

Also a big thanks to Johnny Bravo. He is helping me with making icons, and I think there might be some great things to come from the two of us.

If you like what we're doing, go down to post #3 in this thread and click the thanks button on Johnny's post.

More to come later.

Everything moved to this thread: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/sprint-epi...ro-others.html

Re: Development: Not sure what yet, but something

I personally like 4..kinda used to it..TP2 was 4...TW is 4..

3 would prob benefit those with bigger fingers...and 5 comes in useful for things like adding contacts to homescreen and etc..but thats what widgets are for..

so I say 4...1 per inch

I like #3 because its completely transparent. I would be adding it to the scrolling menu bar at the bottom of LauncherPro, and I have some custom backgrounds that I use for that, so I like that the background would show through the transparent one.

The image in the OP was 5 icons I made and then put them on a background that would show the transparency. All of the icons are 80x80, but might not look that just because of the way I pasted them in Photoshop.

Again, my goal with this is to build something that other people than just me will like. It's the #1 lesson I learned by cooking TP2 roms last year.

If you're interested in seeing what I'm talking about, here is a link to my TP2 thread. http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/cdma-tp2-d...ht-no-cht.html

Oh, Johnny, This is what this is starting as. I'm probably going to do the LP icons and post those, then do the theme around it.

I had one of Timberwolf's themes for awhile that had LP icons somewhat similar to these. Looking forward to what you make.

Well, it's whatever wallpaper you choose. It seems like most people use backgrounds with lots of black in it since that helps battery life. I have a default wallpaper to include in the theme, but chose this one to show the icons since it was fairly basic.

I'm on spring break from school for 2 weeks after tonight, and live in Minnesota where it's still cold and snowy, so I have a good window of time to hit this thing hard.
