kies updates are not available in the u.s., and not all froyo updates are going to be via kies. in the uk it is an ota for tmo. it depends on the carrier.
there is speculation that kies support may be added by 2.2, but that wont help us now, right?

viper rom has kies cooked in his froyo and he almost got tv out working. didnt try kies but i saw its there.

i wonder if the kies option on in the rom came from the 2.2 leak or if it was from a different carriers rom... tv out im ready for too. im sure youve seen the other tv out thread that is making good progress on xda?

The Epic 4G doesn't have Kies mode; when you plug it into a machine running Kies, it's not even recognized.

The T-Mobile Vibrant has Kies mode, but when you plug it into a machine running Kies (since the last fw update), Kies says the phone isn't supported.

It's kind of a shame, Kies is nice looking software.

I have not seen the kies setting in 2.2 yet...

Viper rom kies doesn't work properly last time I checked with latest version of Kies.
