internet tethering with sprint htc hero

I know there will be alot of people asking the same question, so figured we can get an ongoing thread regarding usb/wifi internet tethering through sprint service. I am in need of tethering and i know the the only option will cost money which is pdanet...coming from windows mobile, tethering was a simple hack which was also free...

The next option would require rooting the fone, which hasnt been done yet.. so unless im wrong and there is an update pls update here.

Info: i get an error code 67 invalid username/pw...this is when i use htc sync method as described in the owners manual to usb tether. im assuming sprint blocked it

I have done some research on this very thing. The GSM version has been rooted.. Aren't they the same??

No Intetnet Tethering on the Cdma Hero yet, Sprint is blocking this becuase you do not have a PAM plan, The best and ONLY way right now is to get Pdanet to tether, 30 day trail and it works good. I have purchased it in the past.

As of now, Sprint is blocking the intetnet tethering. The best and ONLY way right now is to get Pdanet to tether since the Hero isn't Rooted yet. Pdanet has a 30 day trail and it works good.

Ok I am trying this out now. Do I install it to my PC or Hero?
