Please help me decide - tp2 or htc hero

I have the Sprint TP2 and I have been using it for about 2 weeks. My original plan was to use the TP2 for about 25 days and then send it in and wait for the HTC Hero. I really love the quality of the TP2 but the HTC Hero looks like it has a better future.. the fact that it supports flash out of the box is pretty sweet too.

Can you guys please help me decide.. thanks in advance

I think it will come down to your preference for size. Hero is an impressive device, with the only exception that it's HUGE. I really suggest checking it out before buying.

To me they are very different devices. I am currently using a Sprint TP2 and debating whether or not to switch to the Hero. My SERO plan is the main thing keeping me with the TP2, I'd genuinely much rather have the Hero.

TP2 advantages:

1.Physical keyboard
2.Much higher resolution screen
3.Definitely SERO compatible

TP2 disadvantages:
1.Windows Mobile (not nearly as elegant and user friendly as Android)
2.Bulky to some degree, though it doesn't bother me at all.
3.Price

Hero advantages:
1.Visual voice mail
2.Capacitive touch screen
3.More compact
4.Android is in its infancy, app availability and variety is going to explode with all of the new devices coming out.
5.Price

Hero disadvantages:
1.Might not be SERO compatible (not truly a disadvantage of the device)

I guess it all comes down to OS preference. I really like Android so that makes the Hero an easy choice. However I really like my SERO plan too.

Scientific: I don't believe the Hero is a world phone, so no SIM card. Can anyone say if this is correct with 100% certainty?

Well it definitely does come down to OS preference, but if you're on these forums, you're probably in need of some freedom. GO WMo!

well... do u like wm or android... do u need a hard keyboard or not.... should be easy to decide. be like me and get the hero on another line so u can use both

Android will become one of the best out there soon. Tons of phones coming which will bring lots of developers. They already have 8000 apps available and many more to come. The marketplace for windows isn't going to come close, atleast not now.

I have had windows mobile for over 7 years and I can say I think I have exhausted all the fun out of it. I used it for business and fun. I like windows mobile but just got tired of switching roms all the times. I am going to try the hero and see how it goes. I like the tp2 too but mainly because of the screen and keyboard. If it had android on it, I would already have it.
