Trouble with ActiveStink Always Running? Look Here

This is a walkthrough that has helped me immensely with activesync always running.

Try this.

Even if you don't use exchange, we are going to setup a dummy exchange account.

Open Activesync. Go to Menu, Add Source.

Email address: Whatever.

Uncheck the checkbox to detect exchange settings and hit next.

Server address: Whatever.

Hit next. Put in a fake username, password, and domain. Hit next.

Uncheck EVERYTHING. Hit finish.

Go back to Menu.

Go to schedule. Sync during: manually. Off peak times: manually.

Uncheck both boxes. Hit OK.

Go to menu, options.

Delete the fake exchange server.

Close it via task manager or whatever program closing app you use. It will run on next boot, but closing it should keep it closed.

This has worked for me. Your mileage may vary.

Re: Trouble with ActiveStink Always Running? Look Here

So I guess since I need my exchange email pushed to my phone, I probably shouldnt do this lol. Damn, it sure does kill my battery life though.

Also, this isn't addressed to anyone specific, just wanted to say that Adrynalyne is such an asset to every forum he participates in, it's nice to know if I ever need help with my Omnia we can count on him,. I've already donated to him a couple of times, and plan on doing so again next Friday (payday) and I encourage as many people as possible to do the same. It doesn't take a lot money, even just 5 or 10 bucks from everyone he helps would help him buy that Wii for his daughter's birthday.

Check your messaing app. Look for something called Outlook Email. Open it and delete the welcome email from Microsoft.

First - I fully echo your sentimants regarding Adrynalyne. I, too, will continue to donate out of appreciation.

Second - Are you running Mobile Shell 3 by any chance? It (or a combination of it, PhoneSuite, and Pocket Plus) has now twice caused my connection to Exchange to hang, resulting in massive battery drain. Once removed, everything is copacetic.
