Metropcs Flash FAQ's

Due to a huge increase in the PMs i've been receiving I decided to post here some links for the search lazys:

The famous question: " How do I flash my mogul to MetroPCS? "

Well, I wish the answer was easy. But in a few words, Metropcs will not flash the mogul for you and it will not Activate a mogul into their network even if you say that you have it flashed already. ( Unless you are a lucky one to get a nice Metropcs Employee that will do it for you )

How does it work ?

To have the mogul activated on Metropcs network you need:

1- Your Mogul's ESN entered in Metropcs' system under your account.
2- Basic Settings in your Mogul entered the right way ( NAM, SID, Etc... )
3- The Latest Metropcs PRL in your phone.

Most people get stuck in step number one, because just a few people got their phones LEGALLY activated with metro. Like this one here: http://www.howardforums.com/showthre...57&page=1&pp=1

What most people do is Clone an existing and active Metropcs handset to the mogul. That is NOT LEGAL. That's why we do not discuss STEP NUMBER 1 here in this forum. A lot of people ask why dont we "share the knowledge" , well that's why. The fact that we do not discuss this here doesn't mean that this is not possible... remember Google is your best friend. Also this post here may give you some hints: http://www.mobile-files.com/forum/sh...ad.php?t=54188

Now, for those who got Step number one done, read these posts:

Metropcs Web Issues: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=35825
Another Metropcs thread:
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=33520
How to make MMS work: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=42295

There are some other tweaks and settings for your mogul to work with metro, so feel free to ask here and ALWAYS SEARCH.

It's very important to understand why it's not so clear how to flash your mogul to metro. It's because it may involve ilegal procedures.

Yup.
And I have an activated ESN in my mogul...
And the 00069.prl
And I don't have any service at all.
Anywhere.

The settings (MIN, SPC, etc.) were all set according to...
http://flash-ppc6700-xv6700.neaturl....-MetroPCS.aspx

And I've still got nothing.

I have to have screwed up somewhere...
Any thoughts or ideas?
On my xv6600 with the 00069.prl I have service and can get metro by dialing *611
I can also OTSP with *228 giving me PRL version 02001

So... since I did the same thing with the xv6800 - I don't know what went wrong =(

I'm pretty sure I did...

Now, when ever I soft reset, the phone is automatically off...
Turning it on gives me an odd icon by the Y shaped thingy (reception meter) - it's....
Not the ! - for no service.
Not the X - for "off"
It's....
Well... it looks like butt cheeks >_<
It's a funky looking "circle" that's kinda jellybean shaped with a line through it.

And... I can't get into diagnostic mode - nor pull up ##778# - to double check.
Hard resetting right now - I'll get back to you on that in a bit...

Re: Metropcs Flash FAQ's

Alright - re-flashed Sprint 3.56 Rom, Radio 3.42, etc. stock stuff...
And it was on Mobile IP - so I changed it back (##778#) but I'm still getting the same icon.

Anything else I might have missed?
Screenshots attached.

#3 just showed the bottom box of the NAM Settings - ACCOLC is 7.
