Sprint Diamond on Verizon?

I purchased a Sprint diamond of ?bay and i want to connect it on Verizon's network. I've been looking for a universal rom with vzw carrier. I guess i will have to wait until Vzw release a rom. I wanted sprint's version for the processor and ram. It will be in before Friday. What will i need to do before i try and activate it on Verizon. This is my 1st thread so if i did anything wrong please feel free to let me know. Thanks for all input.

Re: Sprint Diamond on Verizon?

Thanks for the link! I think i will be fine I've had the 6600, 6700, and 6800 with too many radio and rom flashes to list. I was just thinking their might be a big difference with the diamond. I hope not, i don't want to wait for Verizon to release a stripped down Diamond for Christmas. I called vzw twice and they say they could activate it. I hope they wasn't blowing smoke. Thanks again

Re: Sprint Diamond on Verizon?

I also called verizon and the rep said they would activate a non-verizon phone and add the ESN to their database under the open network program. The rep mentioned you can also do this online by doing the ESN change. I have bought a sprint diamond on ebay and will be activating it on verizon as well.

Here are the steps I believe we need to follow to get the sprint phone activated on verizon. I haven't finished researching this so I may have missed a few steps.

1. Unlock SPC/MSL and reset to 000000
2. Load verizon PRL
3. Update MIP settings
4. Call verizon to add ESN

I have put this information together based on some prelimary research. I will post more detailed instructions once I do this myself.

Information sources:
some of these links apply to other devices but the process should be similar

Re: Sprint Diamond on Verizon?

Thanks Waves! I brought the phone to Verizon today to activate it. after about 4 hours no luck. They said the system wouldn't accept the esn because the device model is not in the system yet. i didn't unlock because i dont have the epst password. is there anyway to reset the msl without the password?

Re: Sprint Diamond on Verizon?

You'll need to use getspl to get your msl# which will be your epst password. Read my post in that thread I posted above. Thats how you need to unlock your phone.

Re: Sprint Diamond on Verizon?

i tried that but it couldn't connect might be a vista problem. i hear it doesn't work well on the diamond. here is what i'm about to try.

Change the following registry entries in:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\HTC\ATDbgLog
Enable: 1
LogMode: 1
* Wait a reasonable amount of time and soft-reset (I have noticed that it seems to take longer for this value to take affect, so if you reboot and the registry values are not changed, then you need to do it again and wait longer)
* Check to see that the file \ATDbg0\ATDbg0.txt has been created.
* Return the values back to what they were (most likely 0) waiting the same amount of time as above.
* Look in the ATDbg0.txt file and you should see a log of commands sent to the CDMA radio and there should be something like this somewhere in the file:
|| Begin Code Sample ||
11:9:3 Tx:AT+HTC_RMSL=0\r
11:9:3 Rx:+HTC_RMSL: 354201\r\n0\r
11:9:3 Tx:AT+HTC_ROTKSL=0\r
11:9:3 Rx:+HTC_ROTKSL: 216112\r\n0\r
|| End Code Sample ||
The numbers next to the Rx: +HTC_RMSL line should be your MS

Re: Sprint Diamond on Verizon?

the method above worked perfect. i only have the .eri, dmu, and i don't see the sml to reset it to 000000. at least evdo shows up and when i dial 611 i get verizon. it wont let me otap though. and i changed the #stock to my curent phone's #. if you know how to do the rest let me know. i'm kind of crippled by vista i think. i called verizon from the diamond to see if they could activate it. they said it's not doable even if i get everthing right. they will have to wait till they officially activate other carriers or they release the diamond themselves. from verizon "there is no way to actvate the phone if the system wont accept the esn. I'm not giving up yet though

Re: Sprint Diamond on Verizon?

Is it just me or is there a reason i can't connect to my phone to change the spl code on the sprint diamond? i've tried on xp and vista. Has anyone been able to do it yet on sprint's version? PLEASE if you have done this or know it has been done let me know. I need to load the dmu and eri also. Thanks for your time.

Re: Sprint Diamond on Verizon?

Exactly whats the problem? Is your computer not recognizing your phone? Are you doing ##3424 then connecting to your computer to program the phone? I'm just trying to figure out what your actually doing.
