Will BT tethering work with your method?

here is how i got mine to work. first i did just the reg edits as shown on tp1 essentials thread. worked until u soft resest. i forgot about cmguardian. then i installed calks cab. didnt do anything so i uninstalled. then i tried the ics wmodem fix cab. that broke something. cuz i just couldnt connect to the computer. i couldnt uninstall that. so i looked around and followed these steps:

Tethering - tested and works

1 - using file explorer go to Windows\Start Menu\Programs - delete internect connection sharing

2 install - ICS_and_WModem_Fix cab

3. using a regedit program

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\InternetSharing]
Extension="" Delete the "isext.dll" entry

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\InternetSharing\settings]
ForceCellConnection="Sprint"

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\InternetSharing]
MaxCMCon=0

[HKLM\Services\CMGuardian]
Flags = 4 (it's a DWORD Value. if it doesn't exist. you need to create it)

4 - soft reset
5 - Start the Internet Sharing application.
6 - Select Sprint under type of connection.
7 - Hit Connect In the Internet Sharing application.
8 - Connect to the Laptop/PC via USB
9 - Done. No other applications needs to run on the PC/Laptop.

-----------------
now everything works including bluetooth and 2 drop down menus on ICS as well as htc wifi router.

Boo Boo says first step is no longer needed but i did it and all is fine and i only need one ICS link.

judging from the size of calks cab and mr x's, i want to say they both do the same thing. but i havent compared them to be sure. hope this helps.

Re: Tethering: Why so many different "Fixes" ???

Thanks for that post KoKo, I saw that particular one in another thread as well, but was somewhat hesitant to try it out (note, still haven't updated to the new ROM).

If you, or others who have also updated, could please check your data usage online and report back on whether or not any new charges have appeared as a result of using the above method, then Im sure we would all really appreciate it.

Thanks in advance!

Whoopee! Thank you for posting! I found that all of the cabs I tried removed the BT PAN option so I "cleared data" which let me start over. Then I just did these two registry edits:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\InternetSharing\settings]
ForceCellConnection="Sprint"

[HKLM\Services\CMGuardian]
Flags = 4 (it's a DWORD Value. if it doesn't exist. you need to create it) Yes I did need to add it.
After a couple soft resets it is still working!

I thought "stealth" wasn't required for Sprint. Is there proof that stealth changes are in fact needed for Sprint? If so, what exactly do these "stealth" cabs actually do?
