Froyo 2.2 for Moment

Since no one has asked, will there be Android 2.2 (Froyo) for Samsung Moment? Will there be a version that we can install?

Yes there is an alpha rom at the SDX forums, has almost no functionality at the moment and must not be used if you need full functionality of your phone. More details here:

Re: Froyo 2.2 for Moment

Pretty interesting read there...looks like we're gonna have some fun times ahead of us as soon as the code is released. I'm trying to decide if I want to gank my GF's moment and shove this alpha release on it to see what it's like. Might get punched pretty hard though.

I guess Judge Mathis didn't lie when he said women from Detroit generally stab

Hopefully Google doesn't leave Android users behind constantly like Microsoft did with Windows Mobile.

+1 i think me moving to android instead of windows was probably a better move . But the two big things i miss with windows is the free tethering and wifi router. I dont see why they cant do it like that on android but i guess in time. I would just like to stay flashing my phone all the time to keep up with everything. I just hope this rom stuff with android will be like windows with the mightyrom, NRG. And so on. Well the new future of phones is right here people yay.

There is free tethering. I have a free program EasyTether, available from the market that I use...works great. Also, the best thing I've found for a "ROM" would be LauncherPro...it allows you to have 7 screens instead of 3 to put your widgets on.

The biggest brain change I had when moving from WM to Android was realizing if you want it to work better, find it in the market. You basically build your ROM...rooting allows you to remove the base junk programs that you don't use increasing performance and battery life.

I have 2.1 on my moment and a ton of cool apps. Is it hard to root?
